Dr Jo Miller

Home Dr Jo Miller

Jo is a singer, fiddler, community musician and ethnomusicologist. She is based in Stirling where she leads the house singing group ‘Our Front Room’ and Stirling Sunshine Singers, a dementia-inclusive choir.

Jo is also a qualified mentor and runs a mentoring programme for Traditional Arts & Culture Scotland which supports musicians, singers, storytellers and dancers to sustain and develop their practice.

Her book Community-based traditional music in Scotland: A pedagogy of participation was published in 2023. Jo is currently researching the neglected history of traditional music in Dumfries & Galloway.
