Dr Sophie Boyd is a Glasgow based researcher, choir leader and singing for lung health practitioner. Her PhD, which was awarded from the University of Glasgow last year, focuses on the health and wellbeing benefits of collective singing, particularly for those living with respiratory illness. Through her work, Sophie seeks to widen connections between research and practice. As such, she is involved as a research assistant for Scotland’s Singing for Health Network, based at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and is a committee member for Spheres of Singing, a project that aims to facilitate accessible learning across different fields of singing practice and research.
